Just days after hotel operator HEI said 20 of its hotels had been infected, Eddie Bauer said its 350-or-so stores in the U.S. and Canada had also been the victim of a malware attack. Morgan Gerhart, VP at Imperva commented below.
Morgan Gerhart, VP at Imperva:
“For any organization that has sensitive information, while attempting to avoid infection and penetration, you must have other plans in place to detect and contain an infection or a breach once it happens. Far too often, breaches are noticed only after damaging events have taken place. Organizations should dedicate time and train their teams on breach scenarios and response. For some organizations, the security incident response may align well as a focus area within a broader Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity Program.”
