Phishing is a significant threat to all organisations and individuals, and this incident highlights the risk to data security posed by human error. Phishing attacks are often highly convincing, and unfortunately, clicking on malicious links and responding to fraudulent emails are commonly-made mistakes. Elara Caring has taken the right course of action by forcing password updates and implementing additional training for employees. But human error can\’t be trained away – in addition to training, organisations must put in place the right technology to mitigate the risk of insider data breaches.
