[su_note note_color=”#ffffcc” text_color=”#00000″]Kevin Epstein, VP of Threat Operations at Proofpoint :

“This attack echoes one Proofpoint described in late 2014 that was deployed though Yahoo and 25 other major brand sites. Clearly the need for Malvertising protection — on the ad-hosting sites and at Enterprises whose employees browse such sites — remains strong.

Malvertising can enter the ad chain at many points, and is virtually impossible to detect at scale using manual inspection. Fortunately, the same ‘big data’ tactics used by specialized targeted attack protection products to detect malware delivered through other vectors such as email or social media can be employed to protect against Malvertising.

Whether or not you believe you’ve been infected, implement a ‘security freeze’ on all your credit accounts at the major credit-reporting agencies. It’s like an inoculation against Identity Theft, making it much harder for cybercriminals to use stolen information to open credit cards in your name or otherwise do later financial damage.”[/su_note][su_box title=”About Proofpoint” style=”noise” box_color=”#336588″]proofpoint_logoProofpoint Inc.
