It has been reported that businesses in Guernsey are being warned about a group of cyber criminals targeting the island’s firms. During the last 12-18 months the organisation calling itself DD4BC has been targeting various companies – ranging from online casinos to banks – with ‘distributed denial of service’ attacks (DDoS). Igal Zeifman, Senior Digital Strategist at Imperva commented on the hacker group targets businesses in Guernsey.

“Based on our experience with mitigating several DD4BC assaults, the group commands enough botnet resources to launch mid-sized application layer and network layer DDoS attacks. While their ransom emails boast a 400-500Gbps capacity, the attacks we observed were significantly smaller, peaking at 40Gbps–less than “advertised” but still enough to bring down most unprotected network infrastructures.”[/su_quote][su_box title=”About Imperva” style=”noise” box_color=”#336588″]ImpervaImperva® (NYSE:IMPV), is a leading provider of cyber security solutions that protect business-critical data and applications.
