Unique FIPS certified and PIN activated USB flash drive datAshur recognised for robust security at the 2013 BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards in London
iStorage, a leading specialist in portable storage and digital encryption, has received the winning distinction of the Security Innovation of the Year Award at the 2013 BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards. The awards, which provide a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence, celebrated iStorage’s datAshur® AES 256-bit hardware encrypted USB flash drive with PIN code access for its innovative security measures, ease of use and affordability.

datAshur won the award for its innovative security features such as its on board alphanumeric PIN protected access which protects against malware and key loggers. The device also features AES 256-BIT hardware encryption which is the world’s most secure encryption algorithm used by military. The drive is dust and waterproof and certified to IP57 rating and is also tamper evident and resistant.

Earlier this year datAshur received Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 Level 3 validation as a measure of its excellent security. The validation examined 11 areas of a cryptographic module used by the device’s security system, including physical security, cryptographic key management and design assurance. It is also in the process of receiving accreditation from CESG and Common Criteria making it the world’s only flash drive to have three accreditations.
