BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards 2013 recognise unique USB drive with PIN code access datAshur in the category for ‘technology excellence’

iStorage, a leading specialist in portable data storage and digital encryption, has been nominated as a finalist for the “Security Innovation of the Year” award at the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards 2013. iStorage has been shortlisted for its datAshur® AES 256-bit hardware encrypted USB flash drive. The FIPS certified device employs a range of innovative features including secure PIN access via the on-board alphanumeric keypad to protect against hackers and key loggers.

The awards are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence and are a benchmark for outstanding performance throughout the UK computer industry. The technology excellence awards focus on technologies that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of IT in the past 12 months. The winners are set to be announced on Wednesday 13th November at an awards dinner at Battersea Park Arena in London which will be attended by 1,300 guests.

About datAshur:

US benchmark military data security accreditation – FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification

Military grade protection AES 256-bit hardware encryption protects data in real time

7-15 digit PIN code access – Up-to a 15 digit memorable number or word

Alphanumeric keypad – Onboard keypad prevents hardware and software keylogging

Tamper resistant – Epoxy resin destroys circuit board components if tampered with

Robust design Sealed extruded aluminium casing protects from dust and water

Auto-lock datAshur will auto lock on loss of power or ejection to prevent access

datAshur also protects against software and hardware keystroke logging plus brute force attacks thanks to its unique alphanumeric keypad. The datAshur does not employ software and requires the PIN to be entered via the onboard keypad before the drive is inserted in to the USB port on a computer, tablet or mobile device. This ensures that keyloggers do not have the opportunity to capture your password inputted via a keyboard. Furthermore, datAshur’s Brute Force Hack Defence Mechanism will destroy the encryption key and all stored data if the PIN is incorrectly entered 10 consecutive times.datashur

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the security innovation of the year award and are thankful our hard work and dedication has been recognised by the BCS & Computing 2013 UK IT Industry Awards,” states John Michael, C.E.O of iStorage. “Securing data has become a matter of significant importance for both individuals and businesses alike and datAshur guarantees peace of mind against unlawful access and hacking attacks.”
