Network vulnerability management vendor, RandomStorm, has been recognised in the Northern Tech Awards as one of the top 50 technology companies in the North of England, based on revenue.

Organised by international technology investment banking group, GP Bullhound, the Northern Tech Awards recognise technology companies with rapidly increasing revenues. A team of experienced technology sector corporate financiers identify the leading firms in the sector.

After studying its revenue growth over the past three years, RandomStorm was ranked 13th out of the top 50 fastest growing technology companies based in the North of England.

This is the latest in a series of accolades for the rapidly growing RandomStorm, which was founded in 2007, in West Yorkshire, by Andrew Mason and Robin Hill, to provide information security products and world-class consultancy services to enterprises and SMBs.

In November 2013, RandomStorm was listed as the 21st fastest growing technology company in the UK in the Deloitte Fast 50. Using the Deloitte formula, the company calculated that its revenue grew by 1062% between 2009 and 2013.

RandomStorm has steadily grown its customer base of retailers; financial institutions; transport companies; local councils; utilities companies and premier league football clubs and is listed among the top three fastest-growing companies in the North of England.

To maintain the company’s rapid growth, the company has recently made a number of senior appointments, including hiring former AppSense founder, Tony Bolland, as Non Executive Director.

At the start of the year, RandomStorm opened its first London office, to enable its team of data protection, security and compliance experts to be based close to customers in the financial district. In March, RandomStorm opened its first Scottish office and appointed country manager, David Burnett, to provide a local base to support customers in the oil and gas; hospitality; and call centre industries.

Andrew Mason, Technical Director and co-founder of RandomStorm commented, “We are delighted to gain recognition in the Northern Tech Awards. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our existing customers and our employees for their unstinting service, which enables us to continue delivering first rate security products and expert consultancy to organisations worldwide. RandomStorm continues to gain and retain customers, owing to the team’s outstanding service, and we are well on track with our UK recruitment and expansion plans for 2014. We look forward to being ranked in the Northern Tech Awards top ten next year.”
