1) Javvad Malik

Javvad Malik isn’t your average security professional. With almost 2,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, Javvad puts an extremely funny and engaging twist on security. His most recent video is a week-long trip to DEFCON, BlackHat and BsidesLV condensed into 4:06 minutes. Other prominent videos include benefits of being a CISSP and why you should encrypt your password.

2) John McAfee

Founder of McAfee, John McAfee was the first developer of a commercial anti-virus program and is well known for his eccentric personality. With only 12 videos on his YouTube channel and over 12,000 subscribers it could be difficult to understand what all the fuss is about. His video, ‘How To Uninstall McAfee Antivirus’ has had 4,127,713 hits and instead of me trying to explain, just go and watch it.

3) Tripwire

As I’m sure you are aware, Tripwire are a leading global provider of IT security and compliance solutions for enterprises, government agencies and service providers. They upload videos frequently that are often interesting, informative and pretty funny too. Have a look at ‘Hey…What’s Your Password’ to see what their YouTube Channel is about.

4) Secure Ninja

Secure Ninja TV is at the forefront of filming cyber security experts. Arguably the best in the business, they cover a wide range of industry conferences, events and trade shows each year. Hosted by Alicia Webb, Secure Ninja definitely aren’t as stealth as you think. Their most popular video on YouTube has had 7,500 views and is of the Secure Ninja girls’ lockpicking at DEFCON 20.

5) Sophos – IT Security

Sophos focuses on delivering the best IT security and data protection for businesses. Through their YouTube channel you’ll find a wide range of videos, from the threat experts at Naked Security, to the big brains reporting from SophosLabs. Make sure you subscribe alongside 7,181 others to regularly learn about their products, best practices and the latest buzz in the IT security industry.
