India ranks amongst top three countries targeted by phishing attacks by brands, says RSA, the security division of EMCndings in its May 2013 Fraud Report. The other countries are being US and UK.
The U.S. remained the top country on the chart, targeted with 46% of the total phishing volume in April. India with 8% ranked at fourth.
Phishing is the act of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and sometimes, indirectly, money) by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
According to the report close to 46 percent of all phishing attacks worldwide in April were on brands present in these three countries. India ranked 4th on the chart, targeted with 8% of the total phishing volume worldwide. Brands in the U.S., UK,
