ESET appoints new leaders for business, technology and operations.

ESET announced a major refocus of its operations to grow by appointing three new leaders to its key departments of business, technology and operations. The change in the company’s management will bring significant results across the organisation, not only pushing it into the top global IT security vendors, but will also help the company to build stronger leadership and profesional expertise in the industry. All appointments are effective immediately.

“In thirty years, ESET has grown into one of the industry’s leading antimalware and endpoint security vendors, which has helped over 100 million users keep their data and privacy protected – whether personal or business,” commented Richard Marko, CEO at ESET on appointing the new leaders. “Therefore putting the most challenging areas of our company into the hands of people who have spent countless hours building ESET into an award-winning IT security vendor will help to deliver proactive protection beyond compare.”

Previously the leader of the technology division for six years, and an IT professional with more than 20 years of knowledge in the security industry, Palo Luka has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO). Apart from operations, Luka will also oversee strategic investments.

“We have always focused on the long-term and have reinvested a lot of our revenues into building a strong company. As a result, ESET has become a major player in the security business with widely recognized R&D capabilities”, said Palo Luka. “Now we are ready to invest even more into our future.”

Throughout his career, Luka has overseen the successful completion of the company’s biggest endeavor to date – the development of the ESET Security Solutions. He is also one of the initiators of the idea behind ESET Research Center.

Juraj Malcho, who has been overseeing the company’s research activities for the past six years has been appointed the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). His new role will be focused on building new research and development offices across the globe, as well as driving both development and quality of ESET products and services in order to improve protection from cyber threats. The CTO’s initiative also include strenghtening cooperation with universities and academies.

The CTO’s division has already started off 2017 succesfully, opening two new research and development centers in two different parts of the world – Canada and Romania.

Ignacio Sbampato, who was Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for the last six years, has moved to the position of Chief Business Officer. He will be overseeing global sales, marketing, business development and customer care areas of the company, while also holding a strategic role in the company’s plans to move from the TOP 5 Endpoint Security market position into its Top 3. The new CBO will also improve market share in less potent markets and as well focus on building a strong customer base in the Enterprise and MSPs segments.

Moreover, as the new leader of global sales, marketing and customer care teams, Sbampato will work towards providing the best customer experience on the market. He will also work to enable ESET’s partners to grow their businesses while keeping home and business users safe from all types of threats.
