Product Innovation and Global GrowthProduct Innovation and Global Growth Cap Successful Second Quarter

Datto, innovative provider of comprehensive data backup, recovery and business continuity solutions, has announced the company achieved rapid growth in the second quarter of 2015. Datto introduced new products, held its first-ever EMEA Partner Conference and expanded its distribution further into the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Driven by an uptick in international growth, Datto experienced its best Q2 to date in terms of revenue, with a 57 percent increase from Q2 2014.

Product updates and partner conference

Before an audience of more than 100 partners at Datto’s EMEA Partner Conference in London Datto CEO Austin McChord unveiled new products to extend the company’s ability to protect customers’ business data no matter where it lives.

  • Datto Networking Appliance (DNA) Router: The first born-in-the-cloud router, offering remote configuration and 4G failover, brings new innovation to the product category. While traditional routers are susceptible to downtime and can be challenging to manage remotely, the Datto DNA router can be easily configured from the cloud – reducing the need for manual onsite visits, decreasing downtime, and providing a better experience for end users. General availability is expected in Q4, 2015.
  • Datto Backupify for Office 365: The new Datto Backupify for Office 365 solution is the first new SaaS protection product since Datto’s acquisition of Backupify last December. Datto partners supporting Microsoft Office 365 are now able to offer superior cloud-to-cloud backup protection for their users, ensuring that customers experience zero data loss from human errors, malicious deletions, hackers or viruses. The new product joins Backupify products for Google Apps, Salesforce, and other SaaS applications and is available now.
  • File sync and share through partnership with ownCloud: Secure file sync and share capabilities offer endpoint protection to devices in the field. ownCloud, a provider of enterprise-grade file sync and share, is now included with all new and deployed Datto SIRIS 1 and SIRIS 2 devices. Datto partners can now offer their customers a seamless way to collaborate and share documents from anywhere; all while storing data on their SIRIS device in their local infrastructure with a backup copy in the Datto cloud. This new feature is available now.
  • Datto Linux Agent: With Datto’s new Linux Agent, the company delivers business continuity to Linux-based environments in addition to Windows. Unlike competing solutions, the Datto Linux Agent features persistent incremental backups, integrated storage, cloud replication, individual file restores, and instant local virtualisation. MSPs working with Datto can use their existing Datto devices to extend protection to Linux. The Linux agent is fully supported in SIRIS and the Datto cloud and is available today on every SIRIS device ever sold. This new feature is available now.

UK expansion

Datto’s Total Data Protection platform is increasingly being adopted by managed service providers (MSPs) around the world. In Q2 2015, Datto signed new distribution agreements across Europe, partnering with distributors Portland in Benelux, Upstream in the Nordics, BeMSP in France and Achab in Italy.

In addition to new European distributors, in Q2 2015, Datto signed agreements in the UK with MSPs including Circle IT, BTA and SICL. To help support UK-based partners, Datto has a data center located in Portsmouth.

With increasing demand in the UK, Datto held its first EMEA Datto Partner Conference in London this July to address the specific interests of its UK-based partners.

Roger Harry, Managing Director of Circle IT, comments on the new partnership: “We are delighted to be partnering with Datto. Datto’s product range complements our existing portfolio and gives us the ability to offer our customers backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions. This enables maximised uptime and easy access to data. What’s more, the team at Datto has been very supportive to date and we look forward to continued joint success.”

“Q2 was one of the biggest quarters in the history of our company,” said Austin McChord, founder and CEO of Datto. “The new product innovations released this quarter, and our continued international expansion, set the stage for even more good things to come.”
