There were 35,831 phishing attacks launched around the world in June, according to the RSAs latest report. The phishing trend seems positive, after peaking at almost 60 thousand attacks launched in July 2012 the total has steadily fallen to a 31% decline year-over-year.
Banks and financial institutions, as the main target, will need to be more vigilant against attack. In the past year 76% of the total phishing volume was directed at nationwide banks as cyber criminals seek to capture valuable customer and financial data.
