Crypto Ransomware Detection for StealthINTERCEPTNewest Service Pack Release of Award-Winning Change and Access Monitoring Solution Now Shipping With Out-of-the-Box Ransomware Detection Analytic

STEALTHbits Technologies Inc., a leading data security software company that ensures the right people have the right access to the right information, announced that StealthINTERCEPT v3.4 SP1 is now available, and includes a new built-in analytic designed to detect and alert on file activity behavior indicative of Crypto Ransomware.

“This next generation of ransomware is no longer simply locking down systems and devices,” noted Adam Laub, STEALTHbits‘ SVP of Product Marketing. “Today, threats like Crypto Ransomware target unstructured data like Word and Excel documents in file shares and on NAS devices, encrypting potentially sensitive and highly valuable corporate data.”

Collecting and analyzing file activity in real-time, the newest StealthINTERCEPT release can spot, for example, an individual account accessing and modifying an unusually large number of files in a short period of time, behavior highly unlikely to be that of a human user, and indicative of a ransomware attack in progress.

Added Laub, “With the addition of the Crypto Ransomware detection feature, the number of built-in attack analytics that ship with StealthINTERCEPT has reached 10 of the most popular, effective, and hard-to-detect techniques employed by today’s sophisticated hackers. No other solution provides that degree of coverage as efficiently as StealthINTERCEPT.”
