Fellows help Ponemon educate global organizations on improving data protection initiatives
Lancope, Inc., a leader in network visibility and security intelligence, has announced that its director of security research, Tom Cross, has been named a Ponemon Institute Distinguished Fellow. The Ponemon Institute is an independent research organization dedicated to educating global businesses and government agencies on how to improve their privacy, data protection and information security policies. Ponemon Institute Fellows are nominated and selected by their peers, and represent some of the top privacy and security strategists in the world.

Cross heads up Lancope’s StealthWatch® Labs Research Team, dedicated to advancing the state of the art in network behavior anomaly detection with NetFlow, IPFIX and other types of flow data. Prior to joining Lancope, he was Manager of Threat Intelligence and Strategy for IBM’s
X-Force Research organization, where he also served as technical editor of the biannual IBM
X-Force Trend and Risk Report on the cyber threat landscape.
