Experian CreditExpert’s survey of 2,033 users found that while 73% claimed to be tech literate, many were failing to take precautions to protect their smartphones and tablets.
Only 37% said that they had a password on all their devices, while 43% of those with PINs shared them with friends, family, and colleagues.
Experian MD of Consumer Services Peter Turner said: “The convenience of being able to live our lives on the go through mobile devices is empowering, but means that we share more of our personal information, which forms our online identity and therefore brings the risks of ID fraud.
