Absolute Software have announced a positive change in position by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionaries quadrant of the Client Management Tools Magic Quadrant.*

This is the third year Absolute Software has been positioned as a Visionary in this Magic Quadrant. Absolute Software is also positioned in the Niche quadrant of the Gartner, Inc. Magic Quadrant for Mobile Device Management Software** and the Niche quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention***.

Absolute Software’s client management solution, Absolute Manage, allows customers to remotely manage all the devices in their deployment including PC, Mac®, Android, iOS, and Windows® Phone devices from within a single console. IT can replace multiple systems with a single solution so they can easily determine the status of each device, conduct typical IT maintenance routines, manage MDM and employee-owned devices and take immediate action if required.

The growth of non-Windows endpoints and the lessening dependence on Windows applications continue to be the most impactful trends in the client management tools market. Organizations are struggling to manage the growing variety of smartphones and tablets connecting to their corporate networks. This includes corporate-issued devices and BYOD.*

“We are pleased to see our continued movement up in the Visionaries quadrant of the Client Management Tools Magic Quadrant,” said Errol Olsen, Interim CEO at Absolute Software. “We believe one of the key strengths of Absolute Manage is the breadth of device coverage, supporting Windows PCs, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Our customers have told us loud and clear that they want one solution that will support many devices.”

For inclusion in the May 22, 2014 Magic Quadrant for Client Management Tools, vendor solutions were considered based on the following functions: software distribution, hardware and software inventory, OS deployment, and patch management as well as other functionality often included such as remote control, security configuration management, and software packaging. In addition, Gartner also looked at cross-platform and mobile support, workflow capabilities to automate client management processes, and self-service capabilities that were generally available as of February 19th, 2014.
