Edinburgh, 20 December 2013 – Bloxx, a leader in Web content filtering and security today announced the availability of Microsoft Hyper-V virtual appliance versions of its Web Filter and Secure Web Gateway. The virtual appliances mirror the protection and functionality of Bloxx’s current hardware appliances, making it ideal for organisations moving their security infrastructure to a Microsoft virtual environment.
“These new virtualised products, built on Bloxx’s appliance-based Web filtering and security foundation, deliver all the ease-of-deployment and upgrade benefits offered by virtualisation,” said Charles Sweeney, CEO of Bloxx. “We now offer our next-generation Web content filtering and security, with real-time content analysis and categorisation, either as a hardware appliance or a virtual appliance for both Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere.”
The Hyper-V Bloxx virtual appliances offer:
• Real-time content filtering and classification of Web pages using a next-generation dynamic filter, analysing Web content in real time rather than relying on out-of-date lists of known URLs.
• Gateway level security, which keeps networks and users secure (including enterprise-grade Sophos anti-malware protection in the Bloxx Secure Web Gateway).
• SSL Filtering that mitigates the growing risks of HTTPs traffic.
Availability: The Bloxx Web Filter and Bloxx Secure Web Gateway virtual appliances for Microsoft Hyper-V will be available in early2014 in a range of configurations which can support networks from around 100 up to 10,000 connected devices. For larger deployments, multiple Bloxx virtual appliances can be clustered and load-balanced.
