With 2014 being dubbed as the year of the ´Internet of Things´ (IoT), what are your major concerns regarding the security & privacy issues that consumers face now, and potential problems they could have in the future?
Internet of Things (IoT) will bring even bigger security concerns than we currently have – now we are concerned primarily with confidentiality, integrity and availability of our information, no matter whether it is processed on our desktops, mobile phones or in the cloud. However since Internet of Things has direct influence on how properly various devices like home appliances, vehicles and machines work, we will not only be concerned with our information, but also with our personal safety. Couple this with the fact that such connected devices have very low (or non-existing) security features, and our pain might not be only in the cyber, but also in the physical world.
