DSB Now Provides Malicious App Detection and  Additional Security for Jailbroken Devices

Sunrise, FL – September 30, 2013 – Easy Solutions, the Total Fraud Protection® company, today announced a number of new features for its DSB mobile browser. With DSB, financial institution can deploy an important additional layer of fraud prevention to the end-user, in order to better protect against malware and other sophisticated threats such as Phishing, Pharming, man-in-the-middle (MITM) and man-in-the browser (MITB) attacks. The new DSB features include several key enhancements to ensure that both iOS and Android devices — which together account for more than 90 percent of mobile devices — provide the most secure way for end-users to conduct mobile banking.

“Banking customers are increasingly managing their financial accounts using their mobile devices, however because these platforms are evolving so rapidly, they remain susceptible to a range of vulnerabilities,” said Daniel Ingevaldson, CTO of Easy Solutions.  ” For example, Google provides protection against 77 percent of Android malware in its latest OS version, yet according to Google, only four percent of Android phones have this OS as of this June[1]. With DSB’s new features, financial institutions can provide a simple way to ensure that their customers can securely access their accounts without compromising the user experience.”

Some key new features in DSB mobile include:

– Jailbreak Protector for iOS: Whenever a user attempts to access a secured website with a jailbroken mobile device, DSB will block the site and allow customers to either allow or disallow access. The new iOS feature also includes enhanced tab navigation support, a new dropdown menu with advanced options, and also allows end-users to designate protected sites.

– Malicious apps detection for Android: DSB Android 4.1.0 includes a new module for detecting fake and malicious apps. This module guarantees the authenticity of any app and blocks all threats that may affect users directly or indirectly.

– Certified apps detection for Android: DSB notifies users about the authenticity of an app the moment they are installed. When clicking on the notification window, the app is automatically opened.

DSB is a critical component of Easy Solutions’ Total Fraud Protection platform, which provides comprehensive fraud protection across all channels, and extended to the end-user. By combining cross-channel risk-scoring, transaction anomaly detection, multi-factor authentication, secure browsing, and detection and take-down services, Easy Solutions blocks criminals at all three phases of the fraud lifecycle – planning, launching, and cashing – while ensuring that authorized users can conduct business.

A demonstration video of Easy Solutions’ DSB capabilities can be viewed here.
