A US company – Three Square Market (32M) plans to implant RFID Microchips into their employees’ hands that would enable those employees who gave their consent, to buy food from office break rooms, open access doors, activating office copy machines, automatic login for work computers, unlocking work phones, sharing business cards, and even storing critical medical/health information. It is similar to contactless payment cards and mobile wallet solutions. Michael Patterson, CEO at Plixer commented below.
“These implants will be hacked like all other computer chips and personal information will be compromised. If software updates are not part of these implants future, consumers should avoid them. Regardless, extortion attempts are sure to be directed toward the victims. I can read the headline now ‘Personal health of microchip carriers threatened if they don’t pay up with bitcoin.”
