Trustwave Launches New Managed Application Control Service Based on Bit9 Endpoint Security Technology, Welcomes Bit9 Managed Security Service Customers
Trustwave® and Bit9® + Carbon Black® announced a new alliance whereby Trustwave will become a global managed security services provider of the Bit9 Security Platform which includes application control. As part of the alliance, Bit9 + Carbon Black will transfer existing managed application control service (known as Bit9 Managed Administration Service) customers to Trustwave. Trustwave will also offer a Managed Application Control service—based on the Bit9 Security Platform—as part of its comprehensive portfolio of enterprise-grade managed security services.
Tom Barsi, vice president of business development for Bit9 + Carbon Black, said: “Trustwave is one of the best in the business when it comes to managed security services. Now equipped with the Bit9 Security Platform, the Trustwave team can offer its clients application control as a managed service. Given Trustwave’s history of innovation and its excellence in global service and security management, we are pleased Trustwave now provides the critical managed security services layer for application control customers who prefer this increasingly popular deployment model.”
John Amaral, senior vice president of product management at Trustwave, said: “The Bit9 Security Platform is a logical extension of our managed security services portfolio, and we welcome Bit9 + Carbon Black managed application control service customers to the Trustwave family. Bit9 + Carbon Black provides an essential and powerful solution that provides real-time endpoint and server application visibility and control and prevents threats that evade traditional security solutions.”
As traditional anti-virus becomes even less effective, new approaches like application control help defend the endpoint from more advanced threats. Application control enables the creation and management of policies that define exactly which applications can or cannot run to prevent rogue applications from taking control of systems, exfiltrating confidential information and causing data breaches.
With Trustwave, businesses can turn over day-to-day management of their endpoint security operations and focus on their priorities and core competencies. From deployment to patches to staying current with security policies and configurations, Trustwave Managed Application Control service offers around-the-clock support with integrated threat analysis delivered in Trustwave security operations centers worldwide.
As part of the alliance, Trustwave has joined the “Bit9 + Carbon Black Connect” Alliance Program as a global managed security services provider partner.
