With the unprecedented number of serious cyberattacks targeting critical infrastructure, Industrial Control Operators are racing to secure systems and prevent any serious damage that could cause hardship to millions. Edgard Capdevielle, CEO at Nozomi Networks commented below.
Edgard Capdevielle, CEO at Nozomi Networks:
“For the most part ICS security budgets have stabilized and new initiatives such as the adoption of anomaly detection technology that incorporates artificial intelligence and machine learning, have helped improve the security risk posture of industry. A recent SANs report* also shows that cyberattacks are being detected faster and remediation times have also improved. ICS operators still need to make strides in converging their IT and OT Technical teams which is key to protecting entire operations. In order to bridge efforts, Edgard advises industrial organizations to implement a joint ongoing training program using the NIST SP 800-82r standard and also consider re-organizing IT and OT people onto the same teams for improved communications.”
