Disaster recovery is the area of security planning that deals with protecting an organization from the effects of significant negative events. A major incident in an organization but most especially a small organization, can have catastrophic repercussions including causing it to cease operating if bad enough. Therefore, it is vital that all organizations take the whole issue of disaster recovery seriously and put a contingency plan in place prior to any incident actually taking place. This will then allow the organization to recover as they will have had a plan in place to get things moving again.
This infographic from ERS Solutions in Ireland covers the whole area of disaster recovery but covers it specifically in terms of the small to medium enterprise. It gives tips on handling it as well as providing expert comment from those in the industry.
