In an ever-changing digital world, SMBs are constantly confronted with the challenge of keeping data secure against new, dynamic network threats. And, as BYOD continues to take over the workforce, potential vulnerabilities stem from personal mobile devices, which employees often use to connect to corporate networks. Enterprises must think fast, and those that invest in the most reliable remote access security software will keep their data safe.
Security veteran NCP engineering is making that possible via thousands of resellers this week. On Wednesday*, the company will unveil its new agreement with Tech Data, one of the world’s largest wholesale distributors of technology products, in a joint effort to bring SMBs the reliable remote access VPN solutions they need to stay secure. Tech Data joins NCP’s growing partner roster, expanding the network through which its VPN products are available to businesses of all shapes and sizes.
It’s never a good sign for network administrators when the word “millions” is thrown around in the context of cyberattacks. But that’s been the reality of the last few years following a flurry of high-profile corporate data breaches that exposed the personal information of millions of consumers and caused millions of dollars in damage.
These attacks also exposed network and IT staff vulnerabilities, and sent U.S. and Canadian small businesses clamoring to improve their own remote access VPN solutions.
NCP engineering has heard their call, and is now better able to meet SMB demand in North America following a new distribution agreement with Tech Data, one of the world’s largest wholesale distributors of technology products.
The agreement expands NCP’s North American partner network and offers Tech Data’s SMB solution providers NCP’s Secure Entry Clients through its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) division. Tech Data’s ecosystem also includes major VPN gateway vendors, including Cisco, Check Point and WatchGuard, which complements NCP’s solutions well.
The agreement comes at a time when SMBs are feeling increasingly under siege – more than half of U.S. small businesses say they have been victims of a cyberattack, according to the National Small Business Association (NSBA). While the potential rewards for attacking SMBs may not be quite as bountiful for hackers – relative to enterprise – SMBs actually make quite attractive targets because they often have less sophisticated network defenses.
And once attackers do get through, they can wreak havoc. The average cyberattack now costs SMBs $20,752 per incident, compared with $8,699 just two years ago, according to the NSBA. Combine the costs of cleaning up after a cyberattack, along with the lost time and resources, and it’s clear that SMBs need to be more proactive in protecting their businesses.
That’s where NCP’s market-leading remote access VPN client comes into play. The universal client suite comes complete with one-click logon, a fast connection, and always-on reliability to provide SMBs with the remote access security they need to confidently allow their workforces to work wherever they choose.
And now, with Tech Data’s extensive reseller base, NCP’s remote access solutions will reach an even broader audience.
