WASHINGTON, D.C.–A data breach without a well-crafted response plan in place is likely to cost a chief information security officer (CISO) his or her job, warns Gartner.
Through 2016, three-quarters of CISOs who experience a publicly disclosed security breach and lack a documented, tested response plan will be fired, predicted Gartner in a recent report on cyberattacks.
As a result, CISOs who want to keep their jobs should develop such a response plan, advised two Gartner analysts at the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit being held here this week.
