Release of HalocoreHalocore enables SAP customers to identify sensitive data exports with context-aware classification, track and analyze all download activity from SAP applications, and prevent potential data loss.

SECUDE, an innovative data security provider specializing in security for SAP software, announced the newest release of its flagship data-centric security solution, Halocore, with additional capabilities designed to enhance the solution’s core functionality. Halocore helps enterprises running SAP strengthen the security of data extracted from SAP applications, thereby protecting intellectual property and other sensitive information while preventing potential data loss or malicious theft, ensuring adherence to compliance regulations.

“Many enterprises that run their businesses on SAP deploy multiple measures to ensure that sensitive and business critical data stored inside of SAP systems and applications is highly protected. Unfortunately, these security measures become obsolete when SAP users extract data in a wide variety of forms for the purpose of reporting, analytics, and collaboration,” said Michael Kummer, President Americas at SECUDE. “Most companies have very little knowledge and control over that sensitive information once it leaves the secure boundaries of SAP and often travels to unprotected mobile devices, external partner networks, the cloud, and beyond. With Halocore, SAP users can not only monitor and analyze all data download and extraction activity from SAP applications to detect possible threats, but can also classify and protect that data with fine-grained permission policies, extending roles and authorizations configured in SAP. This approach bridges the gap between enterprise-wide and SAP security solutions, ensuring the same level of protection and control.”

Halocore is directly integrated with SAP applications. This deep integration gives Halocore full contextual awareness, including detailed information about the user (roles, authorization objects, etc.), the data itself (transaction, table, etc.) and the technical environment (front-end, functional module of application server, etc.). Halocore is extremely efficient in automatically classifying, blocking, or protecting sensitive data extracted from SAP applications, while enabling downstream enterprise-wide solutions to make better decisions over sensitive data handling. By enabling companies to extend their security infrastructures into SAP data, Halocore significantly increases the level of data protection, while leveraging their existing investments.

Latest Halocore features include :

  1. Logging email attachments: Halocore will be able to log SAP data exports from SAP’s native email functionality, capturing email metadata and attachments. Email attachments represent another risky exit point for SAP clients as they often contain sensitive data that many enterprises lose control over once an email is sent. With Halocore, companies will now be able to log and monitor email attachments, reducing the risk of unwanted information exposure.
  1. Central log repository: By aggregating logs from separate databases to a central NetWeaver instance, Halocore will now make it convenient for customers to access the information they need to monitor and analyze all data extraction activity from separate SAP systems for enhanced auditing and detection of malicious activity.
  1. Enhanced EAM/ FireFighter log: Enhanced FireFighter log will present information related to downloads triggered by users during FireFighter sessions in a more comprehensive manner, improving user experience for clients utilizing Halocore’s Governance, Risk and Compliance extension.
