Securing Confidential InformationHundreds of store managers exchange confidential information with the help of Intralinks VIA to keep competitive advantage

Intralinks® Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:IL), announces a new customer win; one of the leading French retail groups with 800 brands under its name, Système U.  Système U will use Intralinks VIA® to secure confidential data shared between store managers, helping the organisation to maintain competitive advantage against rival retail groups.  The company reviewed a number of vendors, including its incumbent system, and decided that Intralinks VIA was the best solution to help ensure the security of its confidential information.

Prior to the deployment of Intralinks VIA, Système U’s files were more vulnerable to data leakage and security flaws. Système U did not want its competitors gaining access to its confidential information, and the previous systems were not providing the IT team with enough security to help ensure this.

“We looked at our requirements for sharing documents and collaboration, both internally and externally, and we defined the criteria to choose a solution to support us,” said Sébastian Lopez, Director of IRIS – GIE Information Security Systems at Système U.  “At the time, we felt our confidential information was more vulnerable to data leakage and we needed tighter controls over what, and how, data was being shared. We didn’t want to lose competitive advantage in France if a leak occurred. That’s why we chose Intralinks VIA.”

Intralinks VIA is a robust, yet simple, enterprise collaboration solution. It gives assurance to Système U’s IT department that documents are shared securely, while allowing end-users to share and access them wherever they are, even from mobile devices. With Intralinks VIA, Système U can now manage content and documents, even after being downloaded, thanks to Intralinks’ Information Rights Management technology (IRM). Système U is able to control who is granted permission to view and share certain files, watermarking all documents to discourage employees from taking screen shots, and exporting confidential documents without the knowledge of the internal IT team.

“Système U has a vast network of brands, employees, and suppliers, warranting a secure solution that can easily manage how confidential information is shared and stored,” said Dave Wareham, SVP EMEA, Intralinks. “Système U understands the importance of protecting its confidential assets and recognises that consumer-grade solutions can easily compromise everything it has worked towards as an organisation. We’re proud that it has selected Intralinks to protect its business.”
