With National Cyber Security Awareness month (NCSAM) upon us, the national spotlight is on best practices to stay safe and protect your data online. Thanks to the support of the National Cyber Security Alliance, Department of Homeland Security, and the White House, the month of October will feature a number of initiatives designed to increase the knowledge base about cyber security issues with the general population and promote DHS’ “Stop. Think. Connect.” program to empower individuals to be safer online.

Since the majority of cyber-attacks originate with a phishing email, the best way for organizations and individuals to protect themselves online is to identify and avoid phishing emails. With this in mind, PhishMe has developed a special infographic “How to Spot a Phish” that provides a guide for recognizing the tell-tale signs of a phish, i.e. phishing email. You can view the infographic below:
About PhishMe
PhishMe launched publicly in 2008, and incorporated as an independent entity in 2011. PhishMe Incorporated is based in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC, with staff across the country. Our support, operations and sales teams are headquartered in our Virginia office, with additional offices in New York and London.
Our team developed the PhishMe concept based on dozens of years of experience in penetration testing, social engineering, abuse management, incident response and forensics. As our founding team looked at the results of the annual assessment model we implemented for clients, we realized that to effectively combat phishing attacks, our customers needed to combine compelling exercises with dynamic, immersive training.
