Security expert Brian Krebs and Vice Motherboard have published articles claiming to have found the real identities of two Syrian Electronic Army hackers. However, the hackers are denying that the information is accurate.
Their research is based on data allegedly leaked from the Syrian Electronic Army’s website while the group was moving it to another host.
Brian Krebs has identified Mohammed Osman, a 23-year-old Syrian who has recently moved to Turkey, as being one of the key members of the group.
Vice, on the other hand, claims that “ThePro” is actually one 19-year-old Hatem Deeb.
The Syrian Electronic Army says both articles are inaccurate. ThePro has told Vice that Deeb is not a member of the group, but a friend whose name shows up in the domain registration information.
