Network vulnerability management vendor, RandomStorm, has been listed among the top twenty UK technology companies on the Pathfinder 20 index.

Organised by private equity firm, August Equity, the Pathfinder 20 identifies the UK’s most promising privately owned technology companies. Selected companies are measured not only on their financial performance, but also on criteria including innovation, growth potential and their ability to become category leaders over the long term. The index is compiled by a panel of leading technology executives, all of whom have grown and mentored leading UK technology businesses.

RandomStorm was founded in 2007 by technology entrepreneurs, Andrew Mason and Robin Hill, to provide information security products and world-class consultancy services to enterprises and SMBs. The company has steadily grown its customer base of financial institutions; retailers; local councils; transport; utilities companies and premier league football clubs and is listed among the top three fastest-growing companies in the North of England.

In November 2013, RandomStorm was listed as the 21st fastest growing technology company in the UK in the Deloitte Fast 50. Using the Deloitte formula, the company calculated that its revenue grew by 1062% between 2009 and 2013.

To maintain the company’s rapid growth, the company has recently made a number of senior appointments, including hiring former AppSense founder, Tony Bolland, as Non Executive Director, and opening new offices in London and Scotland.

Andrew Mason, Technical Director and co-founder of RandomStorm commented, “We are delighted to be listed on the Pathfinder 20 index. We have steadily increased out business through a combination of security expertise and product innovation that helps our customers to maintain ongoing security and compliance. The Pathfinder 20 listing is testament to the dedication of our employees and the quality of our solutions in meeting the rapidly evolving demands of the information security industry.”

RandomStorm provides vulnerability scanning; network security monitoring products and consultancy services, to help public and private sector companies to continuously improve their security posture and comply with industry guidelines and data protection regulations. The company is a CESG CHECK security consultancy and certified as both an Approved Scanning Vendor and Qualified Security Assessor by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council.
