ESET, global pioneer in proactive protection for more than two decades, announces that its growth outpaces the worldwide security software market, as reported by Gartner, the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company based on 2014 market share revenue.
The security market grew 5.3% in 2014, touching $21.4 billion in revenue, according to Gartner’s Market Share: All Software Markets, Worldwide, 2014 report. With new technologies and software being adopted by businesses around the world, the number of vulnerabilities for cyber-criminals to exploit will grow multiple times. Worldwide spending on information security will reach $71.1 billion in 2014, an increase of 7.9 percent over 2013, with the data loss prevention segment recording the fastest growth at 18.9 percent, according to the latest forecast from Gartner, Inc. Total information security spending will grow a further 8.2 percent in 2015 to reach $76.9 billion,” according to Gartner.
According to Gartner Market Share: All Software Markets, Worldwide, 2014 report, ESET has recorded growth of 8.0% during 2014 in the consumer security software and endpoint protection platform (enterprise) markets, improving its market share from 4.0% in 2012 to 5.1 % in 2014.
