Alert Logic, the leading provider of security-as-a-service solutions for the cloud, has today announced its international expansion into EMEA. The US-based company recently announced it achieved 35% year-over-year revenue growth in Q1 2014, with annualized revenue under contract in the month of March 2014 exceeding $56 million. With their expansion into EMEA, the company will address the growing demand for security and compliance solutions from European customers, by providing local support for the needs of those businesses and industries. Alert Logic has selected the fast-growing city of Cardiff for its new UK hub, which will include a datacentre and Security Operations Centre.

“Data from our recent Cloud Security Report noted Europe as having the highest volume of attacks in hosting and public cloud infrastructures. European customers are looking for high-quality, cloud-based security and compliance solutions that can address their unique needs,” said Gray Hall, CEO, Alert Logic. “With over 300 Alert Logic customers in the UK already, we are excited to announce today that Alert Logic is expanding into Europe with the goal of providing better support for our current and future customers.”

The expansion is occurring across three different dimensions:

– Alert Logic will continue its investment in the new UK office by building out the sales, marketing and support teams to engage directly with customers in the UK. Recent hires include David Howorth, VP of EMEA sales.
– The company is currently developing its UK-based datacentre to provide local support for EMEA customers.
– Construction is also underway for the first Alert Logic UK Security Operations Centre, which will include 24×7 security monitoring to address any threats that may arise.

In order to expedite the launch of Alert Logic’s Cardiff headquarters, the Welsh Government has awarded Alert Logic a developmental grant. This will be used in the creation of new jobs and the new datacentre, as well as further training programmes.

“The arrival of Alert Logic is great news for the United Kingdom, and specifically Cardiff and the Welsh Government’s Enterprise Zone,” said Councillor Phil Bale, Leader, City of Cardiff Council. “In addition to providing new jobs in a highly skilled field, their investment demonstrates the importance of offering in-country residence of data and specialised compliance. Their expansion will provide local resources to address the critical security requirements of EMEA businesses.“

With high-profile data breaches and compliance violations occurring daily, Alert Logic protects business-critical data and systems, ensuring companies are secure. The company’s security and compliance solutions combine products, content, analytics and people to provide customers with an easy and cost-effective way to maintain security across both on-premises and cloud environments. With over 300 UK customers, and partnerships with the top cloud and managed hosting providers in the UK, Alert Logic provides support for companies of all sizes and industries.
