Enabling Thousands of Enterprises to Eliminate Insecure Passwords

Intercede’s MyID Authenticator for GoodTwo factor authentication through existing physical smart cards or on-device credentials protects multiple business-critical apps

Cybersecurity expert Intercede today announced the launch of the MyID Authenticator for Good. This will enable Good Technology customers to replace insecure passwords with two factor authentication across business-critical apps on iOS and Android devices.

MyID Authenticator for Good allows companies to use existing PIV, PIV-I, TWIC and CAC smart card-based credentials, as well as FIPS 201-2 compliant derived credentials, to access secure apps on  mobile devices. Companies without existing smart card technology in place can use Intercede’s MyID credential management system to securely issue credentials direct to mobile devices for use with the Good-secured applications.

High-profile corporate security breaches over the last twelve months have led to an increased demand from enterprises for security systems that go beyond out-dated username and password combinations. To meet this need and offer superior security for enterprise apps on the Good Dynamics platform, Intercede has developed the MyID Authenticator for Good. This will be made available to Good Technology customers via the Good Marketplace and is the first Intercede product to be developed specifically for Good’s digital authentication framework.

This latest announcement follows the recent introduction of Intercede’s MyTAM service, which is used to protect Android apps running on the Good Dynamics Enterprise Mobility Management platform.

Intercede CEO Richard Parris said: “Supplying enhanced enterprise security solutions to Good’s community of high profile customers further demonstrates Intercede’s strong ability to provide identity and credential management solutions to large enterprises and public sector organisations around the world.”

Nicko van Someren, CTO of Good Technology, added: “MyID Authenticator for Good further enhances the layered security model Good already offers, as enterprise customers look to move away from passwords and towards two factor authentication. Additionally, by working together with Intercede, Good is enabling customers to further reduce costs by ensuring systems are fully compatible with existing smart card technology.”
