Senior executives from Securonix and STEALTHbits Technologies commented on Jeb Bush’s statements this week that encryption “makes it harder for the American government to do its job while protecting civil liberties to make sure evildoers aren’t in our midst.”

“U.S voters want MORE privacy through encryption and are holding companies accountable for securing their data now more than ever. With the knowledge of how extensive the data collections have been, there is a good deal of trust that will need to be earned back by the U.S government. Finding this balance between national security and privacy is going to be an ongoing challenge with hostile individuals, groups and countries sure to ramp up their encryption and secure communications in the midst of all the data monitoring revelations.”[/su_note]

“On one hand Jeb Bush supports the NRA and the right to bear arms, but on the other hand, he does not support the rights of Americans to protect their data. You can protect your home with an automatic weapon that potentially kills people, but you can’t protect your data with technology that harms no one. That seems like a bit of a contradiction.”[/su_note]
