Data Classification Solution Designed for SAPSECUDE’s Halocore for Data Classification is a data governance and security solution that offers a unique blend of SAP-native classification and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) functionality along with enhanced auditing and reporting features.

SECUDE, an innovative data security provider specializing in security for SAP software, announced today a launch of a new data governance and security solution for SAP customers – Halocore for Data Classification. SECUDE’s latest solution enables efficient downstream management of sensitive documents exported from SAP with the first SAP-native classification, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and auditing capabilities all geared towards securing sensitive data. Halocore for Data Classification helps strengthen SAP data security, while preventing data loss and ensuring compliance.

Halocore for Data Classification offers an intelligent classification engine, providing enterprises with the ability to label documents correctly with minimal guesswork. This first SAP-native DLP functionality allows customers to block downloads of restricted or compliance-regulated information from SAP applications before they even arrive at the user’s front-end, minimizing the risk of data loss due to malicious or accidental actions. Halocore for Data Classification also contains a logging feature that tracks all data extraction activity from SAP systems and aggregates them in a fully-customizable audit log, giving enterprises 360° visibility and control over sensitive data distribution.

“Data breach disclosures are all too common these days, but organizations of all sizes should understand the six basic strategies for safeguarding their sensitive information. And identifying and classifying the enterprise data that needs to be protected is the first and foundational step in any successful data security initiative,” said Derek Brink, vice president and research fellow, Aberdeen Group. “SECUDE’s Halocore for Data Classification – which is designed to classify and monitor sensitive information, specifically for SAP, in an intuitive and proactive way – is a great example of this foundational capability.”

Traditional data classification and data loss prevention tools have to rely on user input or content analysis in an attempt to understand the context of the data. Halocore for Data Classification is context-aware and fully integrates with SAP systems. This deep integration gives Halocore full contextual awareness, including detailed information about the user (roles, authorization objects, etc.), the data itself (transaction, table, etc.) and the technical environment (front-end, functional module of application server, etc.). Halocore is extremely efficient in automatically classifying or blocking sensitive data extracted from SAP applications, while enabling downstream solutions to make better decisions over sensitive data handling.

With Halocore for Data Classification, enterprises can:

  • Employ a seamless classification experience for any data extracted from SAP systems.
  • Ensure consistent and proper handling of documents throughout their lifecycle.
  • Enhance security awareness among users, increasing their level of engagement and accountability.
  • Identify sensitive data with built-in intuitive classification algorithms.
  • Prevent data loss from SAP applications with first native DLP functionality.
  • Enable existing downstream classification and DLP tools to make better decision over sensitive data handling.
  • Simplify compliance efforts, while minimizing their costs.
  • Monitor, record, and analyze all data extraction activity from SAP systems to minimize the risk landscape.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of Halocore for Data Classification,” said Michael Kummer, President Americas at SECUDE. “ In a modern-day enterprise, the value of sensitive information cannot be overestimated. Many companies have already implemented a data classification solution that assists their data security and governance efforts. However, SAP customers have yet to find a technology that directly integrates with their SAP systems and allows users to classify the vast amount of documents extracted from SAP applications on a daily basis.
