Lieberman Software Corporation has announced that its User Manager Pro Suite (UMPS) security management product now supports Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.

User Manager Pro Suite is a multi-threaded Windows security management tool known for its speed, depth of coverage and ease of use. It can mass manage local users, groups, registries, shares, rights, and more on Windows servers and workstations. UMPS also allows IT administrators to generate real-time, interactive compliance reports on system configurations.

“IT administrators often feel overwhelmed in their jobs and are forced to write PowerShell scripts for reporting and remediation,” said Philip Lieberman, President and CEO of Lieberman Software. “Those scripts can take a lot of time to write, become outdated, and are not particularly quick in their operation. User Manager Pro Suite provides an off-the-shelf solution that eliminates the need for PowerShell for both domain and local security management.”

UMPS is also remarkably effective at quickly finding and stopping malware (such as the recent retailer outbreak of Chewbacca malware), using patented Access Control List management technology, called Cratering.

Major UMPS use cases include:

·        Managing local accounts and group memberships across the entire Windows network
·        Creating, updating or deleting any registry key, or group of registry keys simultaneousl
·        Generating unique, random local administrator passwords for each Windows machine
·        Finding and removing unwanted shares and obsolete machine accounts
·        Determining which NTFS permissions are granted to each user and group

UMPS has more than 500 customers in both government and commercial organizations worldwide. It’s Certified for Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Vista, Windows 7 and Hyper-V, and is the most mature tool for Windows IT administrators, having originally come to market in 1998.
