Further UK expansion for IT security vendor listed among Deloitte Fast 50
Network vulnerability management and compliance vendor, RandomStorm, has opened a new office in Scotland, just two months after opening its first London office and five months after being listed in the Deloitte UK Fast 50, which identifies the fastest-growing technology companies in the UK and EMEA. The office in West Regent Street, Glasgow, will provide an additional base, close to RandomStorm’s customers in the oil and gas and hospitality industries. As part of the expansion, RandomStorm has appointed David Burnett as country manager.
RandomStorm employs a growing team of network security engineers, software developers and penetration testers. The company provides network security monitoring products and consultancy services, to help organisations to identify where they may be vulnerable to social engineering and cyber attacks that could increase the risk to their digital assets and compromise their ability to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and the Data Protection Act.
Burnett joins the company from Onyx Group Scotland, where he managed new business development within the region. Commenting on his appointment, David Burnett said, “RandomStorm was founded seven years ago and its growth has been remarkable. It is listed by Deloitte as one of the top three fastest-growing companies in the North of England. I was impressed by its innovative vulnerability scanning platform and first rate consultancy services provided to enterprises and SMBs within the oil, gas and hospitality sectors and I am excited to be joining the company to support its expansion in Scotland.”
Using the Deloitte formula, the company calculated that its revenue grew by 1062% between 2009 and 2013: positioning RandomStorm as the twenty first fastest-growing company in the UK technology sector and 130th in the top five hundred technology companies in EMEA.
Robin Hill, co-founder of RandomStorm commented, “In recent years, as our product range has expanded, we have gained quite a number of customers operating in the call centre industry, hospitality, and oil and gas industries. These companies all store sensitive information that needs to be protected and this has created more demand for our services. We recognised that we need to support this business growth by providing a permanent office in Scotland. We are delighted to welcome David to the team.”
