Secret Server 8.6 Provides Organizations’ Employees with Simplified User Interface to Encourage Better Password Practices and Mitigate the Chances of a Data Breach

Designed to liberate password management tools from IT departments and make them accessible to end users, Secret Server 8.6 increases organizations’ overall IT security by providing the option of using an intuitive user interface that streamlines the process of managing privileged accounts, enabling users without a background in IT security to store passwords and manage their own work-related credentials.

Other updates to Secret Server include the ability to enroll in two-factor authentication through Google Authenticator. This provides an additional level of security by allowing employees to use their smartphone or tablet as a security token while avoiding any administrative friction associated with managing traditional tokens. Secret Server 8.6 also features expanded support for changing passwords on websites and SaaS applications such as Salesforce.com, allowing administrators to schedule automatic password rotation and further securing applications essential to an organization’s business operations.
