Easy Solutions®, the Total Fraud Protection® company, has announced that it now supports the use of the DMARC draft specification within its customer base. By leveraging DMARC and the Detect Monitoring Service (DMS) cloud-based, anti-fraud monitoring solution, Easy Solutions’ customers can improve productivity and reduce takedown times for phishing sites. Beta customers have already seen a 20% uplift in phishing attack visibility as a result of using DMARC.

The DMARC industry group was founded in 2012 by leading technology, financial service, media and retail companies to fight email fraud; help email senders and receivers work together to better secure emails; and protect users and brands from painful, costly abuse. Most recently, the IETF has created a working group for DMARC’s standarization.
DMARC stands for “Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance”. It is a technical specification to help reduce the potential for email-based abuse by solving long-standing operational, deployment, and reporting issues related to email authentication protocols. DMARC enables email senders to authenticate legitimate messages and exchange information with email receivers about how to handle unauthenticated messages (monitor, quarantine or delete them).
Easy Solutions’ customers can now benefit from an integrated real-time feed of their DMARC reports with the latest version of the Detect Monitoring Service (DMS), enabling the service to identify and then take down those attacks more efficiently and effectively.
Companies that have implemented DMARC’s technology include major email providers, such as Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, as well as large financial institutions and retailers, including Apple, Bank of America, eBay, Facebook, FedEx, Fidelity Investments, Groupon, JP Morgan Chase, LinkedIn, Netflix, PayPal, Twitter, Western Union, Yelp, YouTube and Zynga.

“Fraudulent email and orchestrated attacks have eroded trust in email as a communications medium to such an extent that it is nearly impossible for major financial institutions, retailers and marketers to authentically communicate with their customers,” said Daniel Ingevaldson, CTO of Easy Solutions. “DMARC shows great promise, not only for securing email channels and reducing the amount of fraudulent or spoofed email but also for improving threat intelligence around targeted attacks. DMARC gives banks, retailers and other institutions the power to effectively project their own policy to the world on how fraudulent email is handled. We are pleased to offer our customers the ability to leverage this emerging standard to improve the health of email communication, reducing the asymmetry they face in this battle against fraudsters.”
Easy Solutions’ Total Fraud Protection platform delivers proactive, integrated, cross-channel fraud protection across transactions performed through online and mobile platforms, as well as via ATMs, Point-of-Sale terminals, and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems. This ability to quantify and protect against cross-channel risk in real-time continues to grow more critical in importance as criminals leverage multiple channels to conduct highly sophisticated attacks.
