Brands are created at immense cost to build trust and credibility, so it makes sense for hackers to misuse brands.

Lucy operates in the real world: we see these attacks every day, and our job is to expose and educate our customers’ employees to real-world experiences. That requires a wide range of simulated attacks, from the vanilla email hyperlink phish to elaborate attacks disguised as messages from real brands.

Here are 8 ways to help identify a phishing email:
1. Hover over links in emails to see if they\’re unusual.
2. Mis-match between the sender’s email address and the company domain,
3. Gmail-type reply address (big giveaway)
4. Spelling mistakes
5. Unusual layout
6. Asking for confidential info
7. Not having your name in the email
8. Receiving the email at the wrong email address.

By teaching people how to differentiate between a real email from a trusted brand and a phishing email, the security awareness industry can play an integral role to protect the integrity of global brands as well as their customers.
